About Me
Hello, I'm Irena – an English teacher since 2007. I help motivated learners who feel "stuck" at the intermediate or advanced level to finally move forward with their English.
In my lessons you can expect a mix of:
-
Meaningful communication practice
-
Guidance to help you grow more independent in your learning
-
Supportive feedback that points you forward
-
And, most importantly, more confidence when speaking
I've taught in language schools, universities, companies, and abroad (including Portugal and the UK). Over the years, I've worked with students of all ages – from schoolchildren to professionals.
I hold the Cambridge DELTA (Master's-level diploma in English teaching), the Cambridge CELTA, and two Master's degrees from Masaryk University in Brno: one in English Language and Literature and the other in Teaching English. I also regularly attend courses, conferences and workshops to keep my teaching fresh and up to date.
Outside the classroom, I've lived, studied and worked in several countries – experiences that taught me what it really means to use a language in everyday life. I've taught English full-time in Portugal, spent a year studying in Germany through the Erasmus programme, worked at Costa Coffee in London just one Tube stop from Big Ben, and even looked after teenagers as an au pair in France as well as three lively brothers in England.
